The Minnesota Twins' farm system is a treasure trove of young talent, and a recent trip to High-A Cedar Rapids offered a glimpse into some of their most promising prospects. While the Twins' top prospects are well-documented, there are other intriguing players worth exploring. One such player is Brandon Winokur, a versatile athlete with exceptional tools but a struggle with offensive consistency. On the other hand, Khadim Diaw has shown real on-base ability while splitting time between center field and catcher, making him an exciting prospect to watch. But it's the catchers that really caught my eye, particularly Eduardo Tait. At just 19 years old, Tait is already holding his own in High-A with a .460 career slugging percentage, which is impressive for a player of his age and level. However, he's still refining his receiving and throwing accuracy, as well as mastering the strike zone as a hitter. Despite not having exploded yet, Tait's potential is undeniable, and he has plenty of time to develop his skills further. Another player to watch is Houston, a shortstop with a smooth, solid, and composed glove. While he's not super toolsy, Houston has shown encouraging performance early this year, but there remain concerns as to whether he’s going to hit enough to be a regular in the big leagues. Overall, the Twins' farm system is a fascinating mix of young talent, and it will be exciting to see how these players develop in the coming years. Personally, I think the Twins have a real opportunity to build a strong core of young players, and I'm eager to see how they fare in the future.
