Major news alert for Penn State fans! The Nittany Lions' recruiting efforts have scored a significant win by securing a commitment from former Iowa State signee, Amarion Jackson, for their 2026 class. This is a big deal, and here's why...
Head Coach Matt Campbell and his team have successfully brought in Jackson, a wide receiver who's already making waves. This addition is a testament to Penn State's commitment to building a strong team.
Jackson, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound receiver hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, boasts an impressive track record. During his high school career, he racked up over 3,300 receiving yards on 188 receptions, finding the end zone an incredible 40 times! He was a highly sought-after prospect, earning seven scholarship offers before initially committing to Iowa State. The other schools vying for his talent included Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, and Northwestern.
Jackson's decision to switch his commitment speaks volumes. He stated, "I trusted Coach Campbell, Coach [Noah] Pauley and the rest of that staff to develop me and at the time I felt like Iowa State was the place for me." This reveals the importance of the coaching staff's influence and the player's trust in their development strategy.
According to the Rivals Industry Ranking, Jackson is currently ranked No. 876 nationally and No. 125 among wide receivers in the 2026 cycle. He also holds the fifth position in Nebraska's rankings.
This is a significant boost for Penn State's recruiting class. Jackson is the 11th high school prospect to join the team for 2026, following the signings of DE Jackson Ford and QB Peyton Falzone in December. He is also the third-highest-ranked player to transfer from Iowa State.
And this is where it gets interesting... Jackson is the second wide receiver to join the class in the past week, following the commitment of Ben Whitver from Virginia.
