Via Riyadh, with its luxurious hotel, high-end shops, and vibrant public areas, is the perfect stage for a visual spectacle. And that's exactly what Barco delivered - a projection-mapped installation that brings the venue's architecture to life.
But here's where it gets controversial... The installation faced unique challenges. With the venue fully operational, the team had to work around tight schedules and changing requirements. Not to mention, the projection equipment had to be installed at heights of 20 to 24 meters, demanding precision and safety.
Enter Martin Professional Middle East, Barco's trusted partner, who provided local expertise and logistical support. Their collaboration ensured the project stayed on track, despite the hurdles.
The team chose the Barco UDX-4K40 projector for its ultra-bright, crisp 4K visuals and reliability. A total of 35 units were deployed, transforming Via Riyadh into a dynamic visual wonderland.
A dedicated control room, equipped with an air conditioning system, was built on the rooftop to maintain optimal conditions for the equipment. Barco's Pulse software suite, including the Pulse Toolset, Prospector, and Mobile App, streamlined the entire process.
The transition to the Pulse Toolset was a game-changer, reducing setup time by a whopping 38%. Its intuitive interface and smart alignment features allowed the team to unleash their creativity without getting bogged down in troubleshooting.
Completed in March 2023, the installation has become a signature feature of Via Riyadh. Visitors are now drawn to the vibrant visual experience, in addition to the shopping and dining options.
